Titled ‘A Summer Affair’ the collection is
all about celebrating modern day romanticism. With a colour palette of lavender
blue, beige and ivory to blush pink, the collection has an underlying surreal
feel of a dream world. Painterly prints (Read:Print on Print),sparkle, thread and
metal work detailing and floral married the uniqueness of experimental
silhouettes and cuts.
Fabrics such as Tafetta,Tulle,
Organza,Georgette and Chantilly lace brought in an element of fluid sophistication to the collection. Crop
tops, zip saris, embellished skirts, Bolero jackets paired with kurtas and slim
pants, lehengas with pockets, encapsulates the very idea of contemporary
fashion.
The men’s collection retains the traditional essence,
but with a smart infusion of contemporary silhouette and modern men’s fashion
sensibility. Shirt Kurtas,Bandis paired with slim pants,pocket squares,Jodhpur
pants,generous print on print, texture and sharp cuts complements the essence
of today’s modern Indian men.
“My
collection is inspired by the Romanticism that exists in today's day and age.
The young, in love are distracted. This thought makes way for my Summer Affair
collection,”says Manish Malhotra.
Vintage yet youthful the collection’s fabric
and design story effortlessly represents the idea of romanticism in today’s
world, or I must say ‘Summer Romanticism’.
