Marc Jacobs Resort 2013 collection was
inspired by well known American photographer and film director Cindy Sherman’s series of clown portrait. With its
explosive floral & 70’s prints, bright colors, multi layering, unusual
color combination, odd silhouettes & proportions the collection is indeed
intense, bold and completely unconventional. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that
that collection is a mirror to the eccentric nature of the world that we live
in.
For me the sudden burst (explosion) of gaudy
color symbolizes the unpredictable nature of human mind. Wide legged trouser, a
dress with scooped – out back, A line dresses (stiff silhouette),key hole
neckline, and below the knee dresses are some of the key pieces and
features of this collection in a color palette of royal blue,
magenta, orange, aqua, mint green & yellow.As for the collection, you
either accept it or reject it, but you can't ignore it.
